Users without imaging and programming expertise can use Aphelion™ Lab to quickly create effective analysis projects for digital images acquired from microscopes, copy stands, and many other devices. Using a subset of image operators from the popular Aphelion™ Developer product and an intuitive graphical user interface, Lab enables its users to quickly compute measurements on image features of interest.
Thanks to a set of context-based interfaces, the user is guided through creation of an image analysis project. This includes steps for digital image acquisition, image processing operator selection and execution, image editing, measurement selection and computation, and analysis report generation. Results of each operator chosen are displayed on-screen for review. If required, operator settings can be changed or a different operator chosen. The project's parameters, operators, and associated settings can be saved for future use on similar images by either the creator of the project or by other users.
At the completion of an analysis process, statistical measurements obtained from the analysis are saved and analysis reports can be generated. The reports can be saved, printed, and exported into CSV format so that analysis results can be accessed by a spreadsheet application, such as Microsoft Excel® software.
Aphelion Lab is upwards compatible with Aphelion Developer, Version 4. Thus, work done with Lab can be carried forward into the Developer environment when the user needs more advanced capabilities (e.g., broader range of operators, macro recording, system prototyping, microscope automation, and run-time application development).
