Learn more about the latest version of Aphelion Imaging Software Suite.

The interface to the IDS Imaging uEye camera series (GigE uEye and USB uEye) is now available in the Aphelion Imaging Software Suite products (Dev, Lab and SDK). IDS Imaging is providing a large range of cameras, including VGA and 10 megapixel sensors, for both USB and Ethernet (GigE) interfaces. The Aphelion driver is compliant with the Windows 64-bit operating systems allowing to plug any IDS Imaging uEye camera to a 64 bit machine and benefit from its power and the user-friendly interface of Aphelion Dev/Lab. In addition, the uEye camera driver provides full control of camera parameters. It is worth mentioning the performance/price ratio of IDS cameras is really competitive.

New classification tools are now available in the Aphelion Imaging Software Suite:

If you are looking for a software to easily and quickly annotate a set of images, then look at Image Annotator, a free software product that is fully compatible with the Aphelion Imaging Software Suite. Image Annotator is the commercialization of a three-year long research project to annotate eight thousand retinal images by four ophthalmologists located in four different countries. At the conclusion of this highly successful project, the software developed for and used by this project was converted to the commercially supported product Image Annotator.

The process of stitching a large series of overlapping subimages that cannot be captured in a single image requires a powerful software that frees the user from any manual interaction. Virtual Image Stitcher is one of the very few products available commercially that creates an image of an entire sample placed on the stage of a scanning or optical microscope. VIS has been successfully used to generate images up to 40 Gigabytes from a series of overlapping sub-images captured at high magnification in a rectangular grid pattern.

The 3D Image Display extension is now available as an optional extension of the Aphelion Imaging Software Suite. It includes new features and new rendering capabilities. It also takes benefit of new 64 bit PC systems to handle and process very large 3D images.

Stage Controller is now available as an optional extension of the Aphelion™ Imaging Software Suite. The stage of an optical microscope can be fully automated and controlled with the help of this extension. It currently supports the stepper motor controller Tango PCI card manufactured by Marzhauser GmbH.

Aphelion Dev has been providing powerful tools to prototype and quickly deploy imaging applications to users worldwide since 1996. A major upgrade of this software product is now available, providing a lot of new features: support of 64-bit environments, plug-and-play interface to FireWire cameras1, and an intuitive graphical user interface dedicated to both expert and non-expert users in the fields of image processing and image analysis. Aphelion Dev also includes four scripting languages to help the user developing powerful applications: BasicScript (now available for both the 32 and 64 bit environments), Python, widely used by researchers to quickly develop and prototype applications, Visual C# and Visual Basic.

Aphelion Lab: This new software product enables its users to quickly create effective analysis projects for digital images acquired from microscopes, copy stands, and many other devices. Easy-to-use interfaces enable Lab's users to compute measurements on image features of interest and to generate analysis reports quickly. Most importantly, one does not have to be an expert in image processing or programming to use Aphelion Lab productively.

Aphelion SDK: The release of the Aphelion imaging components built on the Microsoft® .NET Framework is now available. The components are based on the native components of Aphelion 4.0 that fully support 64-bit architectures and Windows® XP, Windows® Vista™, and Windows® 7 operating systems. A version for Linux® is also available.

DirectShow driver: All DirectShow-compliant cameras can be interfaced to the Aphelion™ software.

FireWire® Device Support: Aphelion™ Lab and Dev include an interface to manage any cameras compliant to the IIDC version 1.31 specifications. These cameras are automatically found and interfaced to Aphelion Lab and Dev and their parameters can be easily set from the Aphelion Lab and Dev graphical user interface.

1 Compliant with the IIDC 1394 Digital Camera Specification version 1.31 as published by the 1394 Trace Association.
